Novus Contagion 1.1 Dev Log:
Novus Contagion 1.1 is finally out, months later than I had hoped but in a much better state than 1.0. I did not quite get everything into it that I had hoped for but I'm shooting to get out a 1.2 update in the next couple of weeks. So what is new? First and fore-most, I migrated the game to a new engine. Novus Contagion 1.0 was built in Unity and the new version is now in Godot. The largest factor behind the decision was to take advantage of Godot's built-in 2D pathfinding which solved all of the lag related issues that the 1.0 version had. This also allowed me to bring in a much bigger map, getting the game closer to my initial goal. Still need to add the final scene, some music, and a final boss fight so that is what to look forward to in the 1.2 release. The 1.2 release will also bring back the options menu as well as feature a better menu screen.

-New engine and improved performance from it
-Larger map to explore and find hidden pickups
-Placed enemies in addition to the randomly spawning style of the previous version
-New in-game menu and win/loss pop-up
-Stronger dash ability to dodge faster
